Beth M. González (also known as Hikares) is a Puerto Rican artist who works with digital and traditional art; She is an illustrator of comics and art books. She has a bachelor's degree in fine arts concentrating in drawing from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. As an artist, she investigates little-discussed sociocultural topics such as child abuse, LGBTQ+ related content and represents them through storytelling. She published her comic book "Dulce Toxicidad" (2023) as an independent artist. They also got interviewed in several podcasts.
Hikares' work also got published in several magazines like "Tonguas" and "INgenios", one of these making it on the cover page. He has participated in group exhibitions and solo shows, her latest being "Reflexiones del Lockdown" (2023) An exhibition showcasing her artist's book creations during the Pandemic Lockdown in 2020. She also participated "1st degree centigrade exhibition" (2022) that addresses the issue of environmental pollution with the artistic book “COVID en la Tierra". Finally, she was part of the virtual exhibition of the "6th meeting (2021) Undergraduate Research and Creation" with the artistic book “Behind Closed Doors”.
